How to become a Coach

Please do not complete any coach processes until notified by our registrar.
The procedures are changing soon.



Coaches are always needed!
 

How do you become a coach for Natomas Youth Soccer League???


1. Become "SafeSport Trained". Go to the link www.safesport.org. This course is free of charge. Membership code is YC3E-6P5G-YYIL-CS2M. 
     •Complete the three module courses
     •Save the fourth module course and final certificate titled, "SafeSport Trained“ which will need to be          uploaded to complete the US Club Soccer Background application.

2. Complete the "Sideline Sports Doc (SSD) online course. Go to www.usclubsoccer.sidelinesportsdoc.com. This course is free of a charge. Membership code is NATOMAS2 (Enter code so you are not charged).

3. Email league registrar at [email protected] for the background check membership code. 

4. Complete the background screening. Go to the link US Club Soccer Background Application.  
     •Upload the required "SafeSport Trained" certificate. Failure to do so, will result in delay of coaching pass.

**This must be completed in the exact order listed above.



Who is required to complete the staff application?

All staff including head coach, assistant coach and team manager are required to complete the above process.

The coaches are the most valuable part of Natomas Youth Soccer League. All of the requirements listed above are mandated by US Club Soccer.  It is sometimes necessary to repeat this process as requested by NYSL.  Failure to do so may result in being removed as coach of a team.

As a way to say thank you for your help and dedication, NYSL covers all costs listed above and is providing a $25 discount for one registration for the child of the coach!


Volunteer Certification Requirements

1.If you have volunteered to be a Head Coach, Assistant Coach or Team Manager you must complete:
•Safe Sports Certification
•Sideline Sports Certification
•Background Certification

 

2.   Positive Coaching Alliance

•All volunteers must complete the Positive Coaching Alliance training.

 

**All certifications must be completed by the start of the Fall or Spring season.

Volunteer Certification Requirements

August 15 at The Crossing Church  Comp Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Team Managers,

REC U16/U19 Head Coaches, Asst Coaches, Team Managers

August 29 at The Crossing Church  All REC U6-U14 Head Coaches, Asst Coaches, Team Managers
