How to become a Coach


Coaches are always needed!
 

How do you become a coach for Natomas Youth Soccer League???


Here is the process for ALL COACHES recreational and competitive:

  1. Become "SafeSport Trained". Go to the link www.safesport.org. This course is free of charge. It will ask you for a membership code. This code is YC3E-6P5G-YYIL-CS2M. There are three different modules that need to completed. After, you have completed all three modules, you will receive a fourth and final certificate that is titled, "SafeSport Trained".  Please save this certificate to your computer because you will need it for your background check.
  2. Complete the "Sideline Sports Doc (SSD) online course. Go to www.usclubsoccer.sidelinesportsdoc.com. This is course is also free of a charge. The code for this course is NATOMAS1. Please enter this code so you are not charged.
  3. Email the registrar for your code for the background check. Email the registrar at [email protected].
  4. Complete the background screening. Go to the link US Club Soccer Background Application.  You will be REQUIRED TO UPLOAD YOUR "SAFESPORT TRAINED" certificate. Failure to do so, will result in the delay of your coach pass.

This must be completed in the exact order listed above.


Who is required to complete the staff application?

All staff including head coach, assistant coach and team manager are required to complete the above process.

The coaches are the most valuable part of Natomas Youth Soccer League. All of the requirements listed above are mandated by US Club Soccer.  It is sometimes necessary to repeat this process as requested by NYSL.  Failure to do so may result in being removed as coach of a team.

As a way to say thank you for your help and dedication, NYSL covers all costs listed above and is providing a $25 discount for one registration for the child of the coach!

Volunteer Certification Requirements

If you have volunteered to be a Head Coach, Assistant Coach or Team Manager you must complete the Safe Sports Certification, Sideline Sports Certification, Background Certification All of these certifications must be completed by no later than August 15.  And PCA Certification must be completed by no later than August 29.  You can start by following the instruction listed on the following link: https://www.natomasysl.org/Default.aspx?tabid=2664321
